Photomer Shimajiro Flowers, birds, insects, and small lives encountered along the way. Shimajiro photographs nature without overly arranging or altering what is already there, preserving the scenes, light, and fleeting moments he encounters. Rather than setting out simply to "create a photograph," he often stops along the way when something in nature catches his eye. The photographs born from these encounters form what we call his "Michikusa" collection, a Japanese word that evokes the small discoveries found when taking an unhurried detour. "Photomer" is Shimajiro's own term for his approach to photography: not simply taking pictures, but discovering small stories hidden in everyday life and sharing them through images. Even in scenery we might ordinarily pass by, there are beautiful moments waiting to be noticed. May Shimajiro's photographs bring a small moment of "Michikusa" into your everyday life.
