Hiroki Hiryama

My work is about delivering the voice of the soul through painting and words. As a child, I lived in fear of my parents' violence, always watching others' faces to gauge how to behave. Through that experience, I became attuned to the deep pain within people's hearts and the feelings they couldn't put into words. But my own voice was always pushed aside. What did I truly want to do? How did I truly want to live? I grew into an adult without ever knowing the answers. On the spring equinox of 2024, I made a decision: "I will learn to love myself." From there, I encountered Tentukuman, then Reservia (Rizast), my connections began to expand, and I started painting. Through painting, the voice of my soul — which had been sleeping deep inside me — finally came out. When I chose to follow that voice, a life of traveling the world and crossing Japan began.
