Profile I am an illustrator with over 40 years of experience creating artwork for picture books, textbooks, magazines, and more. I find beauty in Japan's changing seasons, the traditional almanac of annual events, beloved plants and animals, curious objects, and the everyday things around us — and I bring them to life on paper. I color my work using a stencil technique on specialty paper. A quietly nostalgic feel, along with colors and forms that put the heart at ease, are what define my style. These days I also create and sell embroidered Japanese accessories, and I'm passionate about crafting art that can be worn and carried into daily life.
