poet / painter / novelist ★Painter. I pursue a form of expression that draws out the emotions inherent within my subjects. Figurative and abstract styles are merely aspects of this expression; my technique is characterised by ultra-contemporary minimalism. ★Poet. The starting point of my poetic career was the profound impact I felt during my adolescence upon reading Kenji Miyazawa's poem 'The Morning of Last Farewell' (part of 'Voiceless Lament', included in the collection *Spring and Asura*). Whilst a student in Kyoto, I delved deeply into the post-war modern poetry movement and developed my own unique world of lyrical expression.
