Boris Lafleur

Boris Lafleur (born in 1990) is a French artist based in Paris. After studying graphic design, he spent nearly ten years working in the field of visual identity. Seeking to move away from a certain creative pragmatism, he began developing a more intuitive and experimental practice. "My practice explores the interplay between control and chance. Through painting, collage, photography, and digital experimentation, I allow accidents and intuition to guide the process, enabling unexpected forms to emerge through abstraction. Each project offers a way into my unconscious, while a serial approach allows me to explore its different facets. It is a constant cycle in which letting go and developing variations on an idea become intertwined. Fragments of past works, organic patterns, and traces of the urban environment become elements of an ever-evolving visual language. My aim is to create moments of contemplation: images that are both traces of an experience and open invitations to interpretation."
