Art posters by Claude Monet (1840–1926), the leading painter of French Impressionism; his Impression, Sunrise of 1872 gave the movement its name. Changing light on water was his lifelong subject: the poppy fields of Argenteuil, his garden at Vétheuil, the cliffs of Étretat and the parks of Paris, painted again and again in different seasons and hours. In his last decades he devoted himself to the Water Lilies of his pond at Giverny, with its Japanese bridge and the sky mirrored in the water. The soft greens, pale blues and gentle light suit bedrooms and natural interiors. Giclée prints.
