Art posters by Henri Matisse (1869–1954), one of the defining painters of twentieth-century France, known for bold planes of colour and simplified line. Around 1905 he led the Fauves, and in Nice and Vence he kept painting interiors, flowers and the light at a window. Late in life, when illness kept him from the brush, he turned to cutting painted paper with scissors; the cut-outs of his print album Jazz (1947), the Blue Nudes and his white birds in flight are among the best-loved images of modern art. His large fields of blue, red and black and his light, open line sit well in Scandinavian and modern interiors. Giclée prints.
