Art posters by Jean Bernard (1775–1833), a Dutch painter and draughtsman working in Amsterdam, known for precise studies of animals in black chalk and pencil and for drawn copies after Paulus Potter and Nicolaes Berchem. A large group of his animal drawings was given to the Rijksmuseum by his descendants in 1904 and remains there. Quiet subjects such as the skull of a cow, drawn in monochrome with generous empty space, suit a modern room or a study. Giclée prints.
