Kevin Lucbert, born in Paris (FR) in 1985, lives and works between Berlin (DE) and Paris (FR). He graduated in 2008 from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris (ENSAD). A member of the artists’ collective "The Ensaders", which he co-founded with fellow students Yann Bagot and Nathanaël Mikles, Lucbert regularly participates in performances and exhibitions and leads drawing workshops. He has worked with The New York Times, The New Yorker, Télérama, Les Échos, the Mondadori Group, Foscarini, Starbucks, Hermès, Hennessy, and the BIC company. The latter acquired several of his works for its contemporary art collection, which was exhibited at the Centquatre cultural centre in Paris in 2018. Drawing inspiration from multiple sources, M. C. Escher, Alfred Kubin, Philippe Mohlitz, and Schuiten and Peeters "Les Cités obscures", Kevin Lucbert has developed a singular visual language in which he explores a parallel world : a strange universe entirely his own. In his “Blue Lines” series, executed in blue BIC ballpoint pen, he depicts surreal landscapes and frontal, imaginary compositions, creating a universe of dreamlike spaces.
