A blue oni emerges against the backdrop of a dense modern metropolis, bringing the supernatural world of Japanese folklore into the present day. Part of NAIKWOO's "NEW UKIYO-E" series, this work contrasts the powerful presence of the oni with the intricate geometry of the contemporary city. Traditional Japanese visual language is reinterpreted through a modern composition, creating a scene where folklore and urban life exist within the same world. Muted indigo, blue, and warm natural tones evoke the atmosphere of aged Japanese woodblock prints while giving the work a distinctly contemporary presence. NEW UKIYO-E by 内空 / NAIKWOO
High-quality giclée printing using 12-color pigment inks and 0.35mm fine art paper. Faithfully reproduces the texture and brushstrokes of the original work, with lightfastness of approximately 200 years.
