I hope that all who encounter these works find within them a story shared with a guardian uniquely their own. 『White Serpent of the Moon』 A solitary white serpent deity appears at the water's edge, the golden orb of the moon rising at its back. The deep black of night, the gold of moonlight, and a luminous, untainted white. Within this restrained palette, I sought to capture the white serpent's mystique and its overwhelming, undeniable presence. Its great coils unfurl — yet what emanates from its form is not menace, but a quiet, sovereign dignity. Amid the ripples spreading across the water's surface, petals drifting down, and the suggestion of torii gates and stone lanterns evoking a sacred realm, the white serpent simply stands — keeping watch over the threshold between worlds. In this work, the white serpent is rendered not as a bringer of good fortune, but as a guardian that turns away impurity and calamity, silently holding its ground and protecting the sacred space. The golden moon embodies divine light. The water embodies purification and the eternal cycle. The cascading blossoms embody the transience of life. Radiant, yet still. Beautiful, yet carrying a presence that feels apart from the human world — This work, part of the Guardian Series, is a portrait of mystery, silence, and an unwavering power of protection.
