【Guardian Series】 Even unseen by human eyes, there are beings that quietly draw near and watch over us. The "Guardian Series" is a collection of fantasy works depicting creatures that have long been passed down through legend as sacred, guiding, and protective symbols — each rendered in its own distinct form of guardianship. Some draw close in silence, some keep watch over danger from the shadows, some illuminate the path forward when we are lost. Strength may not always mean fighting fiercely — perhaps it means simply being present, and continuing to watch over. The guardians portrayed here, bathed in moonlight, stillness, and mysterious radiance, each carry their own story and meaning. I hope that whoever encounters these works finds within them a story shared only between themselves and their own guardian. 『Tale of the White Serpent Beneath the Moon』 Beneath the quiet glow of a golden moon, a lone woman stands still while a white serpent winds its way around her. Against a world of deep black, soft gold, and white, I layered flowers, the gentle movement of water, and delicate Japanese aesthetic motifs (wa no ishō) — one upon another. The white serpent has long evoked mystery, rebirth, and protection. Rather than ensnaring the woman, its great body moves as if to softly envelop her from the outside world — a quiet, steadfast guardian at her side. The vivid ornamentation of a kimono, the smooth curves of the white serpent, the golden luminescence of moonlight. By weaving a faint tension and otherworldly allure into the beauty, I sought to capture a single moment suspended on the boundary between reality and fantasy. Depending on who is looking, it may appear as guardianship, as a vow, or as a scene from a distant, half-remembered tale. A work of quiet (seihitsu) narrative depth, layering Japanese aesthetic sensibility with the spirit of the fantastical.
