The subject of this piece is the "mammoth." Though we can no longer verify it today, I believe the mammoth was not the hulking, ferocious creature it is often imagined to be — but rather a gentle soul, one that sought no conflict and was capable of living in harmony with humankind. A mammoth, long locked in ice, shatters through it at this very moment and finally shows itself to the world. The heart burns with longing, yet somehow the next step never comes. Then a chance word, an unexpected moment — something nudges you forward from behind, and at last you take that step that is entirely your own. This is what I set out to paint.
High-quality giclée printing using 12-color pigment inks and 0.35mm fine art paper. Faithfully reproduces the texture and brushstrokes of the original work, with lightfastness of approximately 200 years.
Orders placed by noon ship the same day. Enjoy new art in your space without delay.
