Armed with a fisheye lens and ND filter, I slipped beneath an unfenced transmission tower and took on the challenge of a fully handheld shot. I used the camera's multi-shot feature to achieve a long exposure, but since the lens doesn't accept screw-in filters, I held the ND filter by hand throughout. Fifteen seconds handheld — wide-angle or not — was a serious physical test of endurance. I cropped the final image to a 1:1 square to let the tower's radiating geometry take center stage. The sky is desaturated while the tower retains its true, natural colors.
