One Venice, seen through the eyes of 50 artists. Surrounding a photograph of Venice are 50 interpretations inspired by the distinctive artistic styles of painters such as J. M. W. Turner, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Henri Rousseau, and Georgia O'Keeffe. Although each interpretation begins with the same scene, differences in light, color, brushwork, and spatial composition transform Venice into remarkably different visual worlds. Using contemporary imaging technology, this work explores how profoundly an artist's individual vision shapes the representation of reality. Bringing together 50 interpretations of Venice within a single composition, it reveals the distinctive character of each artistic approach and the extraordinary diversity of visual expression.
