Jonathan's work blends playful figurative art with a naïve sensibility. Simplified shapes and visible brushwork bring people, animals and everyday objects into a world that feels familiar, yet slightly unexpected. He creates art to spark an immediate feeling—that little moment of recognising something of yourself in an image. He is especially drawn to the parts of us that get less room: the awkward, tender, odd or childlike sides we sometimes learn to hide. Through humour, warmth and curious scenes, he gives those parts a place to belong. His hope is that living with his work feels like a small, everyday embrace of the person you are when you let your guard down.
