*Letters from the Amida Hall*, a film directed by Takashi Koizumi, released in 2002. The entire film was shot over the course of a year in Iiyama City. The Amida Hall you see here was built as a set for the film — constructed to serve as the home of Oume-baasan. After filming wrapped, it was lovingly preserved by the local community, and today an actual Amida statue is enshrined within. I painted this work with the film in mind, imagining the quiet, unhurried life of Oume-baasan.
High-quality giclée printing using 12-color pigment inks and 0.35mm fine art paper. Faithfully reproduces the texture and brushstrokes of the original work, with lightfastness of approximately 200 years.
Orders placed by noon ship the same day. Enjoy new art in your space without delay.
