"At the Heart of the Void" The forest of the twilight realm (yūkai: the liminal world between life and death) draws breath with a cold tongue. Branches are frozen prayers, leaves carve wheels of ice, and stars sleep in the sky above. A lone shadow stands at the center of the abyss. Beneath its feet, a sea of snow; around it, walls of void—— yet from its back, rising upward, light pours down from the heavens. It is not a sound that splits the silence, nor a warmth that wraps the heart. It only illuminates existence itself—— the sole proof of awakening. The shadow does not move. It simply lets itself be swallowed by the light. Before the snow begins to thaw, as though inscribing life—— within the stillness, it gives birth to words. This world remains dead, yet the light is alive. Humans disappear, but the light endures. And beneath that light, the shadow breathes once more. Solitude is not mere darkness. Only by standing before the light does existence prove itself. The heart of one who lived in the twilight realm continues to shine quietly, like a flower blooming on the snow. ◈ Artist's Note I set out to paint a stillness ruled by frozen time. Much of the canvas is given over to deep blues and a gradation of light — white and hazy as drifting snow. By deliberately softening the outlines of the trees and letting the surrounding detail dissolve into them, I tried to convey that this is not a real place, but the yūkai — the liminal realm that exists on the border between life and death. At the center of the image stands a silhouette, lost in deep shadow. Around it I scattered a faint, snow-particle texture to layer in an atmosphere that feels cold yet strangely familiar. The treatment of light demanded the most care in this piece. The light descending from the sky is not the kind that floods everything with brightness. It has the softness of something seeping through fog — gentle, yet unmistakably present. Through its contrast against the dark background, this light throws the central shadow into sharper relief while making clear that the shadow is not simply a presence on the verge of disappearing. By sinking the shadows deep while carefully modulating the highlight gradations, I anchored the single thread of hope piercing the void as something with visual weight. As I wrote the poem, I decided I did not want to render this light as "warmth." As the poem itself says, it is not there to heal — it simply is. It is light as proof of awakening: the means by which a solitary being recognizes its own existence. I chose the phrase "branches are frozen prayers" because I wanted to express that this frozen world is not a dead, inorganic place, but one that holds a latent clinging to life — something praying, merely paused. The process by which the shadow is swallowed by light is not annihilation; it is the beginning of breath. Even in a world where everything is frozen and silence reigns, in the very moment of confronting the light, a real pulse is born. Through this work, I hope to convey — through both image and word — the feeling that solitude is not about sinking into darkness, but about finding light within that darkness and, in doing so, defining oneself anew. ◈ Edition This work is a limited-edition (one-of-a-kind) giclée print from the Mystique In Enigma series. About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
