MΦE / MIE (Mystique In Enigma) is an artist who presents digital paintings and photographic works accompanied by poetry. Working primarily in black and white, layering glitch, noise, and hints of gothic decadence, I trace the boundary between what is visible and what is not. What I'm drawn to is commonly described as "ghosts" or "souls" — but what I want to express through MIE is not horror. It's the "feelings" that lurk in overlooked places, and a "beauty" free from common sense and fixed ideas. [ Soul, reverberation, fragments of memory, a presence that defies words ] Through my art and poetry, MIE explores the theme of making visible the beings and emotions that cannot be seen by the human eye. [ Truth lives inside data that has begun to collapse ] Through faint traces that emerge beyond blurred outlines and noise, I search for silence, solitude, and the existence of voices that have been lost. [ Everything is left behind as a singular trace ] Each work is released as a one-of-a-kind giclée print. [ Giving uniqueness to the price itself ] Every piece is special to me, and I pour something personal into each one. The price of each work is calculated from a unique numerical value derived from that work's own data. This is a deliberate choice on my part — I want not only the work itself, but also its price, to carry something unique to that piece. [ About the person behind MIE ] Many people in my family have a gift for art and craft, and I inherited that — I've been drawing since I was very young. I attended a design vocational school, but most of the knowledge and skills I've built through my practice since then have come from teaching myself. People sometimes ask me, "Which artists inspired you?" In my case, I never reference other artists' visual work when I create. But I do listen to music constantly while I work, so in that sense, I suppose I could say I'm influenced by other artists. My process begins with the fragmentary images and ideas that well up from inside me, and from there I feel my way forward, shaping them through trial and error. That is what making art means to me. Trusting my own sense and instincts, drawing on years of experience in analog and digital hand-drawing and graphic design, I use every bit of knowledge and skill I have to pursue an expression that could only have been born as MIE. Finally, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Giclee POD for providing a place where I can share and sell work like this.
