SERIES — TIDELINE TIDELINE is an abstract series that translates the presence of tide, water, foam, sand, and air into horizontal fields of color. Each composition is built from layered color zones whose boundaries remain soft, connected by subtle bleeding and stippled texture rather than rigid lines. A single fine white line acts as a quiet threshold between water and shore, light and shadow, stillness and movement. Rather than portraying a specific coastline, the series uses color and texture to evoke the slow passage of time and the changing rhythm of the tide. ABOUT RITSUKO NISHIMURA Ritsuko Nishimura creates quiet abstract works centered on the relationship between color, texture, and open space.
