Instead, the bird is dissolved into feathers, traces, afterimages, translucent color, and quiet movement. Soft blush, warm ivory, greige, and restrained touches of gold overlap in transparent organic forms, while edges fade into watercolor haze. In some works the bird is barely perceptible; in others, only a curve, a feather, or a pair of legs remains. The true subject is the open space around these fragments.
