Rather than describing each landscape in detail, the works are built from broad color fields, scraped surfaces, impasto, and weathered block-like marks. From a distance, the images resolve into recognizable places; up close, color and material texture become the subject. Cream and pale blue form a recurring foundation, while coral, lavender, turquoise, ochre, and other accents shift from work to work, giving the series color without losing its quiet character.
