"The Outline of Silence" She stands on the other side of the window. No one is left in the depths of the hallway, yet light still lingers there. The sound of footsteps had already faded, and though there was no wind, the air felt heavy — every breath a struggle. That day, before she took the last hand offered to her, she said, "We'll meet again." But when the door closed, the words scattered into the wind and slipped through the cracks of memory. The shadow keeps moving, yet leaves no footprints. Only the very edge of the light trembles, as if to prove she was ever here. To put it into words… I stand and stare into the emptiness that spreads beyond the glass. On the light-soaked hallway floor, the shadow of my footsteps is cast. But that shadow is not me — it is a loneliness trapped between this world and the next, beyond anyone's reach. Does anyone know this place exists? The reason I remain here is to etch the memory of those who once walked these halls into this hollow, empty space. If you happen to catch a glimpse of me through the window, your gaze will be the thing that confirms I am real. For I am only alive when I am seen. A soul never chooses a place where it risks being forgotten. If you were to call my name, I, too, would begin to walk again. ◈ Artist's Note This work depicts the shadowed spirit of a woman set against a "silent hallway" glimpsed through a glass partition inside a vast public space — the kind found in airports or railway terminals. She hovers, half-dissolved, in the darkened foreground, while an empty, brightly lit corridor stretches behind her. The composition was built around the tension between light and shadow. The figure in the foreground is intentionally softened and blurred, its boundary with the background corridor left deliberately ambiguous — to heighten the exact moment a viewer becomes aware of her presence. The lighting simulates uniform overhead fluorescence: the overall palette is kept at low saturation in near-monochrome, while the central corridor is nudged fractionally brighter to draw the eye inward. Allowing her silhouette to emerge while suppressing the spatial information around her creates the sensation that her "presence" has been stranded inside a place that holds nothing. The blur is selective: the corridor at the center of the frame retains intentional sharpness, while a soft gradient dissolves the figure's shadow at its edges. This produces a strange atmosphere in which being seen and disappearing coexist in the same instant. Fine-grained noise is preserved in the darker areas to prevent the image from resolving into smoothness — a visual whisper of her unreality and of memory in fragments. In direct dialogue with the poem's line "I am only alive when I am seen," the composition positions the viewer as someone peering in through a window, guiding the eye as an act of recognition. Generous negative space surrounds the figure, yet her placement low in the frame means the gaze is drawn naturally — almost gravitationally — toward her shadow. This work makes abstract emotions visible — memory, solitude, a voice that has gone silent — through a concrete space and a silhouette. The physical separation of the glass is itself what it means to be seen, and it is in that moment of being seen that her time alive exists. ◈ Edition This work is a limited-edition giclée print from the Mystique In Enigma series. ◈ Keywords ghost / corridor / glass / silence / memory / shadow / longing / absence / monochrome / enigma

About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
