"Beyond the Mirror" You, reflected there, as if waiting for me, smile quietly. That shadow breathes inside the air, knowing someone's heartbeat. You and I, together, living inside the walls of this room — just the two of us. ◈ Artist's Note In this work, I drew on the mirror as a classic motif — yet rather than rendering it as simple reflection, I poured everything into embodying visual presence itself. What I was most conscious of was that strange distance that arises between the viewer and the subject (which is to say, oneself). The central challenge I set for myself was an "optical displacement" that unsettles the familiar fact of a mirror hanging on a wall. The rectangular frame placed just right of center is undeniably there — yet by carefully modulating how light falls across it and how shadows pool at its edges, I tried to create the impression that it floats forward, hovering in space. It is precisely this spatial slippage, I believe, that generates the tension living inside the phrase "the other side of the mirror." When shaping the poem, the first line I fixed upon was "smiles quietly." I wanted to surface the overwhelming, almost irresistible sense of expectation lurking beneath that serene image. The lines that follow — "breathes inside the air," "knowing someone's heartbeat" — suggest that the shadow is not merely a reflected image but a "trace of life" with genuine, tangible mass. For the visual treatment, I chose a deeply sunken monochrome palette to drape the work in a decadent atmosphere. The specular highlight on the mirror's surface is kept deliberately strong, while the surrounding area is seeded with intentional grain — a texture reminiscent of digital noise. It is this shimmering of particles that blurs the boundary between the physical wall and the incorporeal "shadow" seeping out from it. The flowers in the lower portion of the frame, rendered in heavy blur, function as a kind of "reverberation" from a different timeline or place — distinct from the mirror image itself. That softness adds depth and guides the viewer's eye naturally from the reflected self (the present me) toward something further beyond — a past memory, or perhaps another version of you. The poem's closing line, "just the two of us," carries the weight of this spatial and temporal layering. I feel that the mirror image does not simply show my face; it operates as a presence that contains every stratum of who I am — consciousness and unconscious, present moment and memory. What I was reaching for was the "breath" caught in the instant where these two forces — optical illusion and the rhythm of language — meet. ◈ Edition This work is a limited-edition giclée print from the Mystique In Enigma series. About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
