"From Across the Mirror" A silence like white porcelain fills the room, and an old mirror hanging on the wall reflects nothing but the void. Once, someone must have stood here — studying their own face, composing themselves, holding a quiet premonition of tomorrow. But now, that gaze has slipped through to the other side of the surface. Beyond the boundary sealed by a silver membrane, a shapeless shadow stands in still, wordless vigil. It is a remnant of memory — trapped inside the mirror, drifting through a depth that has no exit. Until someone steps before the glass again and tries to cast their own silhouette into it, this presence waits for the light. Beneath the silver surface, a frozen breath trembles…… Spilling from my fingertips — the warmth I once carried, and colors without names. Dissolving into the labyrinth of reflection, I become a shadow that is no longer me. Was it the landscape behind your eyes you were watching? Or the palm of a hand you could never touch? Beyond the thick glass wall, memory alone drifts pale as a taxidermied thing. I steal the heat living in a fleeting glance, and softly trace the outline of someone else. Calling out from a place I can never return to — is it a prayer that will never arrive, or an eternal thirst? When the mirror closes, I sink once more into the soundless deep. Leaving only a formless sigh entrusted to the silver dark. ◈ Artist's Note The mirror — a threshold dissolved into the everyday. We face its surface each day, verifying our own existence. But what if, just beyond it, there existed "another place" from which there is no return? In this piece, I sought to render the presence of formless beings locked away inside the mirror's depths. A mirror is, by nature, a tool meant to show us ourselves. Here, it has become a boundary instead. The figure who lingers there may once have stood on this side. But now she has become a motionless shadow behind the silver membrane — silently watching, from a distance, the shape of "someone" who occasionally appears in this world. Visually, I began by using an intense tonal contrast between white and black to underscore the emptiness of the room. By deliberately preserving the rough texture of the walls and floor, I aimed to evoke the atmosphere of a space that is somehow aged, or simply forgotten. For the central figure — the spirit — I intentionally softened her contours, processing her so that she dissolves into the background. This was my way of showing that she holds no clear substance in this world; that she exists more like a memory, or an afterimage. I also adjusted the fall of light to create a deep contrast between the dark space behind her and the white space expanding ahead. In particular, by leaving the area from her head to her shoulders deliberately indistinct, I made individual recognition difficult and sharpened her abstraction as a "shadow without form." A solitary gaze, imprisoned in the mirror, waits on and on for the moment it might cross paths with someone else's eyes. I would be grateful if you could sense, in this work, that quiet emotion — like a prayer that never reaches its destination, or an eternal, unquenched thirst. ◈ Edition This work is a single-edition giclée print from the Mystique In Enigma series. ◈ Keywords Mirror / Reflection / Shadow / Ghostly / Monochromatic / Eerie / Void / Boundary / Memory / Melancholy / Mystery / Silhouette

About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
