"When the Mist Unbinds the Fingers of Trees" The light filtering through the mist was nothing like an ordinary morning sun. After a long winter, before the trees had yet turned to fresh green, what seeped through the spaces between the branches was silence itself. I unravel the threads called memory, slowly dissolving back into who I once was. Something like me was never meant to exist in this world. And yet — I can distinctly hear a voice calling. The mist wraps around the fingers of the trees, Whispers drift and settle at my feet, A faint murmur of distant light reaches my ears. I am a soul held captive by memory, A borrowed body, Drifting between this world and the next, Waiting for the day I might find you again. But for now… let me sit with this stillness. The wind stirs, the leaves turn, And something in me is set free. ◈ Artist's Note "When the Mist Unbinds the Fingers of Trees" is a work born from something I held in mind throughout its entire creation — the feeling of that ambiguous time that exists between life and death. The image I began with was a single woman, standing still in air thin and damp as morning dew. I didn't conceive of her as someone already gone, but rather as a presence caught on the boundary between this world and whatever lies beyond it. That said, I wasn't trying to depict a tragic ending. If anything, I wanted to hold a quiet warmth inside the work — the sense of "still here," "still watching." At the center of the composition is her presence. I deliberately applied a heavy blur to her edges. A hard outline — the kind you'd see in a photograph — would have grounded her too firmly in reality, and the dreamlike atmosphere would have slipped away. As the poem says, "a voice calling" — her form is memory itself. I wanted to leave behind the feeling of something that is clearly there, yet impossible to fully grasp. For the light in the background, I felt that simply brightening the scene with a "bright color" wouldn't be enough. I placed the light source slightly deep within the center of the frame, letting the mist appear to seep out from between the branches and leaves of the trees. Rather than light that merely illuminates, I wanted it to echo the poem's image of "unraveling the threads called memory" — so I adjusted its quality to something soft, warm, and faintly golden. Meanwhile, fallen leaves are scattered across the ground. This was a conscious nod to the seasonal shift of passing through winter into spring — I wanted to evoke a sense of quiet acceptance, as though her presence had already been welcomed as part of the natural world. At the same time, echoing the poem's "whispers drift and settle," I layered fine grain noise over the ground to obscure it. This makes it uncertain whether the earth beneath her feet belongs to reality or to something reconstructed inside memory. In terms of color, I was mindful of the contrast between a broadly cool, slightly bluish palette and the warm yellow that breathes out from the light. Warm light within cold air — through that opposition, I aimed to give visual form to the poem's expression: "silence itself." One last thing I want to say: this work was not born from the language of "ghosts" or "specters," but from a feeling that arose as I made it — a deep empathy for those who have been forgotten. It is a sad thing that she cannot move forward along the path. But as long as "a voice is calling," I believe she is something more than a shadow. My hope is that those who look upon this quiet scene might find within it the space to lay their own memories and recollections gently alongside hers. ◈ Edition This work is a limited-edition giclée print from the Mystique In Enigma series. ◈ Keywords mist / forest path / silhouette / light beam / fog / autumn leaves / memory / spiritual presence

About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
