"The Seat of Forgotten Time" With every dance of light particles, the warmth that once lived here trembles faintly in the hollow air before fading away. The midday light pouring through the window no longer grazes anyone's skin — it falls, indifferent, across a crumbling floor. Layers of accumulated time fill the room as a quiet silence, and the curled edges of peeling wallpaper sway gently, as though searching for the footsteps of someone long gone. What remains is the echo of a presence, and a nameless vigil kept for a place the world has forgotten. If you listen closely to that silence… I am here, but no one sees me. The light through the window illuminates the world beyond, and I watch it. Yet I am nothing more than a shadow. The silence that drifts through this space — that is all I am. Once, someone sat upon me. They spoke, they laughed, and I felt their warmth. Now, no one sits here anymore. Rubble is scattered across the floor, paper peels away from the walls, swaying in the wind and the passage of time. And still, I remain. Quietly, at the center of this decaying space. Until the day someone returns, I will be here, forever. ◈ Artist's Note Artist's Note: "The Seat of Forgotten Time" I worked on this piece in the grip of a peculiar feeling. My subjects are usually the lingering traces of people — presences, spiritual or otherwise — but for this work I deliberately turned my attention to an object: a chair, one that must once have been someone's place in the world. I wanted to shift my own perspective slightly and give form to an imagination: what if a chair could hold memories? At the center of the composition I placed a single chair, left alone. In deciding the framing, I thought carefully about how the details of the rubble scattered across the foreground floor and the strips of peeling wallpaper could evoke a sense of stillness (ma — the meaningful emptiness of a space) against the harsh light streaming in from the window. I intentionally pushed the contrast and brought the palette close to monochrome, stripping away the richness of color so that the absence at the heart of the image could speak more clearly. What I was most particular about during the process was the quality of the light and the handling of texture. The almost painfully bright midday light leaking through the window is rendered not as something warm or inviting, but as a cold, indifferent beam that simply illuminates the floor. I also added faint grain and a subtle blur across the entire image — preserving enough photographic reality while pushing toward something that feels less like an observed scene and more like a fragment of memory, slightly adrift. At times while working, I was overcome by a sensation — as though I could almost hear the body heat of whoever once sat here, the faint echo of conversations exchanged in this room. It wasn't frightening. It felt, rather, like a quiet sadness at the sheer passage of time — and something almost beautiful. The words I added to the piece are written as the chair's own monologue. The line "I am here, but no one sees me" carries within it the unhurried flow of time I felt throughout the making of this work. Because the chair once knew a person's warmth, the depth of its present silence is all the more profound — that was what I wanted to express. If this work touches even a small corner of your heart, and if it gives you pause — even for a moment — to reflect on "time that has passed" or "someone who is no longer here," I would be deeply glad for it to serve as a kind of window. ◈ Edition This work is a limited-edition giclee print from the Mystique In Enigma series. ◈ Keywords Empty Chair / Abandoned Room / Ghostly Presence / Solitude / Nostalgia / Monochromatic / Light and Shadow / Decaying Texture / Still Life / Silent Memory

About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
