"Walking Through Snow" In the forest at the threshold, an endless silver silence reigns. It is the place reached by those who held their breath at the edge of consciousness — a pale gray sanctuary where the warmth of this world and the cold of the next dissolve into one another. Every grain of snow that falls is a crystallization of tears once shed by someone, or of prayers that were never spoken aloud. Deep within that forest, a single shadow stands. It is a spirit without physical form, yet it radiates an unmistakable presence. It gathers the memories of travelers who come from far away, lets snow settle upon its cloak, and gazes quietly ahead. What it sees is the lingering echo of time gone by, and a faint premonition of a tomorrow not yet known. And when that shadow exhales a long, deep sigh…… an ancient manuscript reads as follows… A single heartbeat trembles in the white One with no name comes to a stop Beneath their feet, memories gather unspoken Frozen words spill from the tips of their fingers The snow swallows whole the toll of a bell rung somewhere far away and transforms it into a soft and gentle dark I hold your solitude close and simply exist within the falling silver for the sake of those who cannot be seen guarding this quiet forest forever ◈ Artist's Note While giving shape to this work, I kept the word "threshold" quietly at the back of my mind throughout. A place just slightly removed from our everyday lives — or perhaps the liminal space of a moment when consciousness begins to recede. I found myself wondering whether such a place might hold a strange, luminous transparency where the warmth of this world and the stillness of the next intermingle. In depicting the spirit standing within the snowfield, the first thing I was mindful of was a deliberate ambiguity in how it appears. Rather than simply placing a white landscape, I wanted to express the boundless depth of the forest and its quiet expanse by intentionally blurring the boundary between where the ground ends and where the sky begins. What I was most particular about was the contrast between the spirit's silhouette and the textures surrounding it. I chose not to render the spirit at the center in sharp detail, instead treating it as a deep shadow — a negative space. My intention was to convey that it exists less as a being with a physical body and more as something closer to a pure presence, a k気配 (kehai: the felt sense of something nearby without seeing it). At the same time, I introduced variation into the textures of the surrounding snow and forest. The granular noise in the foreground and the gradually layering strata are not meant to read as snow simply falling — they carry the image of crystallized tears once wept by someone, and of prayers murmured silently within the heart, accumulated flake by flake. I also paid close attention to the direction of light. The faint illumination that seems to filter in from behind the spirit feels as though it is lighting up the very moment it receives the memories of a traveler arriving from afar. By deliberately paring away the surrounding details and drawing the composition inward toward the center, I hoped to create the sensation of the viewer being gently drawn into this quiet space. The poem accompanying the work served as a kind of waymarker for me — a way to sort through the emotions I felt during the creative process that resisted being put into words. In the lines about snow swallowing everything and transforming it into a soft darkness, I folded in the idea that memories and time, even as they change shape, do not simply vanish. My hope is that those who encounter this work will find a "quiet place" within themselves. I wish for it to be a gentle sanctuary — one that can tenderly hold even the loneliness you may be carrying right now. ◈ Edition This work is a limited-edition giclée print from the Mystique In Enigma series. ◈ Keywords Spirit / Snowfall / Boundary / Silence / Memory / Monochromatic / Ethereal / Forest / Solitude / Mystique

About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
