"The Guardian at the Threshold" She was once a young woman who waited in this room for someone she loved — a partner, or perhaps family. But before she could go to meet them, she drew her last breath, and so she remains, watching over their lives from "the other side of the glass." For her, this threshold is a bridge between the warmth held in memory and the loneliness of the living world. If she steps fully to this side, she can no longer feel his warmth. If she crosses entirely to the other, she will forget the world as it is now. And so she wanders forever just beyond the window, waiting for the moment someone might chance to find her. If you follow her voice… A narrow gap between there and here. I have stayed in this place all along. Chasing the warmth of your body through the glass. If I take one step, you will vanish. So I only watch. In the shadow of the moon, quietly, I keep my eyes on you. This is my promise that will never end. ◈ Artist's Note When I began this piece, what filled my mind was the sensation of "someone's presence" drifting at a darkened window in the night. Not something frightening — something bittersweet, yet carrying within it a quiet, still warmth. A strange feeling I couldn't quite name. In composing the work, I was deliberate about the window frame that cuts across the picture plane. It was the key to conveying that the figure belongs not to "this side" but to the "other side." Those grid-like lines stand for the boundary between the living and the dead — a structural choice that anchors exactly where she stands. I also left her silhouette intentionally soft, layering coarse, grainy noise across the whole image. I wanted to show that her very existence trembles like a memory. By letting her dissolve into the background rather than holding a firm shape, I tried to render a presence that is almost there — and almost not. The lighting, too, is high in contrast on purpose, with part of her face sinking into shadow. Rather than revealing everything, I wanted to leave room — a sense that something is lurking in the dark — so that viewers might find themselves wondering: what is she looking at? and let their thoughts follow her gaze. The words that surfaced during the making of this piece became the poem above. What she carries is not only solitude. I feel in her something like a quiet resolve — the determination to keep holding someone dear. I entrusted those words to her heart: the fragile awareness that one step forward might make her disappear, and the choice, despite that, to simply keep watch. If this work resonates with something in you — "a presence that once mattered deeply," or "a memory of someone you can no longer see, yet somehow feel watching over you" — that would mean more to me than anything. ◈ Edition This work is a limited-edition giclée print from the Mystique In Enigma series. ◈ Keywords Boundary / Window / Silhouette / Moonlight / Nostalgia / Ghostly / Memory / Solitude / Grainy Texture / Ethereal / Monochrome

About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
