"When Warmth Turns to Sand" "Hey — is someone there? …You don't have to be afraid. I just can't move from here, that's all." Once, I laughed in this room, dreamed my dreams, and walked with a small treasure tucked inside my pocket. Every time my fingertips touched it, that little thing gave back a warmth I could count on. But somewhere along the way, the colors of the world began to fade, and the sounds — the distant ones first — fell away one by one. Like noise layering over old film, my memories lost their edges, and eventually even my own name dissolved into that grainy dark. Now I can no longer tell whether I am grieving or whether I have accepted everything and am simply smiling. I drift at the border of light and shadow, searching only for the warmth of the things I once loved. When I reach for the small treasure I left in my pocket, my memories crumble quietly — like sand slipping through the cracks between my fingers. To you who see me — am I nothing more than noise? Or am I the very last proof that I am still here? Follow the warmth to the bottom of words, and you will find… In the place where light and shadow mingle I tremble in silence Memories crumble like sand Even my name dissolves into noise Am I smiling, or am I crying — the answer reaches no one Only the warmth I left in my pocket I am still searching for it, here in these hands ◈ Artist's Note This work renders fragments of memory belonging to a girl who once lived, without question, in this world. She used to laugh in this room, dream, and walk with a small treasure hidden in her pocket. The warmth of her hand was the one tangible thread connecting her to the world. But at a certain moment, her presence began to dissolve into the space between light and shadow. In making this piece, I devoted myself to capturing the outline of what she has lost and the quality of trembling — the sense of wavering — that remains here and now. Her expression is rendered as something elusive: it could be read as a smile held gently inside grief, or as the quiet smile of someone who has come to understand everything. Visually, I layered coarse, grainy noise over the image to convey the way her existence gradually peels away from reality. In particular, casting a deep shadow across half of her face heightens the instability of a figure standing at the threshold between life and death, between light and dark. I also introduced horizontal glitch distortion across the entire frame, fragmenting her silhouette at intervals. This is meant to show that she no longer holds a fixed form — that she is, like crumbling sand, already coming undone. The "warmth" she left behind in her pocket can no longer hold its shape; it diffuses quietly into the noise beyond. The poignant, beautiful stillness of that moment — the instant when something formed loses its form — is what I have sealed inside this single print. ◈ Edition This work is a limited-edition giclée print from the Mystique In Enigma series. ◈ Keywords Girl / Spirit / Memory / Nostalgia / Glitch / Noise / Light and Shadow / Melancholy / Ethereal / Portrait / Fragment / Dissolving

About Limited Editions
This is a Limited Edition produced in only 1 pieces worldwide. Each piece carries a unique edition number, with authenticity proven both digitally and physically.

Each print carries a unique NFC tag. Its tamper-evident structure breaks if removed, so it cannot be transferred to another work.

Artwork details, edition number, and ownership history are recorded on the blockchain, preserving provenance and ownership over the long term.

A certificate bearing the artist's signature is included. Along with the print itself, it leaves you with proof of authentic ownership.
Unlike traditional proof that relies on a handwritten signature alone, linking a physical NFC tag with a digital certification record delivers tamper-proof, far more reliable proof of authenticity.
Authenticity is certified using "Startrail," a blockchain certification platform operated by Startbahn, Inc.
