If I take a single step forward, everything will dissolve and disappear — so I simply wait to be dyed in the most beautiful color. ◈ Artist's Note At dusk, amber light pours through the window. This piece captures a fragment of memory suspended within that fleeting brilliance. In the depths of the room stands the spirit of a woman, still tenderly holding on to the hours she once spent here. The light filtering through a sheer curtain softly dissolves her outline, leaving only a silhouette. Through this work, I sought to express an attachment to a place and a quiet, lingering longing — feelings that refuse to fade even after what gave them form is long gone. The promises made that day, the warmth felt together — they should be somewhere far beyond reach by now, yet for her they remain, settled like sediment in the corner of this room. Each time the breeze slips in through the window and sways the curtain, that memory trembles, breaks into particles of light, and drifts down onto her skin. By deliberately layering noise, grain, and blurred edges, I created an atmosphere where the real and the imagined bleed into one another. The soft light drifting through deep contrast holds both solitude and a desperate longing to reclaim a happiness that no longer exists. She cannot leave. She knows that the moment she steps outside, everything will scatter like mist. And so she remains — quietly, utterly still — until the instant she can dissolve into the most beautiful shade of the setting sun.
