"A Shadow in the Blue Flower Field" I am here. My hair sways in the wind, yet I cannot move at all. The ground beneath my feet is cold and hard, like stone. The light above never fades — only a blue stillness remains. This flower field was always a beautiful place for us. No one should come here anymore… And seeing you — that, too, was never meant to be. ◈ Artist's Note This work was created around the theme of "the spirit of a girl who lingers after death in the place where she made memories with her lover." The dark, indistinct silhouette on the left side of the frame is a presence on the verge of dissolving into cold blue light. Small blue flowers are scattered at her feet, yet they are not rendered with clarity — they drift through a fog-like ambiguity. The background consists of nothing more than faintly visible tree outlines, deliberately kept from being any specific place. The color palette, adjusted in Photoshop, shifts in a gradient from blue-green to deep navy. The light is uneven — the left and right sides carry different intensities — intended to blur the boundary between "the living world" and "the world beyond." A layer of noise applied across the entire image breaks the digital smoothness, lending the piece a faint grain and texture. With the poem's line "the ground beneath my feet is cold and hard" in mind, I deepened the color of the flower field in the lower portion of the frame. The flowers are lifted by the light, while the girl's silhouette remains in near-total darkness within it. A question that surfaced through the making of this work was: how do you give visual form to something invisible? Here, I chose not to depict the spirit as a simple translucent figure, but as something that mingles with its surroundings and slowly fades into the light. Because the words "no one should come here anymore… seeing you was never meant to be" underlie the image, I chose not to show the girl's form clearly — instead, I wanted to preserve in shape the feeling that seeing her at all would break your heart. The blue light that appears to seep in from the upper right is not a defined light source, but something closer to the echo of a memory.
