Thank you for visiting. I'm Sunfish_Akira. I hope you find a piece you love among my works. My creative roots lie in the oil painting, acrylic painting, and sketching I did during my years at art college — and it is on that foundation that I now work primarily with digital photography. I keep returning to the nostalgia that lives in the coarse grain of old digital cameras, and to the beauty and vividness that lingers in time gone by. After graduating from art college, I have worked as a giclée printing operator, involved in the production of works by many artists and photographers. Through my work at the boundary of digital and analog, I explore the themes of "memory," "time," and "nostalgia." Having experienced both sides — as a creator and as a printer — forms the great foundation of my current practice. For me, making a work does not end the moment I press the shutter or finish an image on screen. I believe that a photograph or digital work is only truly complete when it is printed on paper, not merely viewed on a screen. For each piece, I pursue its expression as a single print, always conscious of the ideal texture and atmosphere. And I believe a work reaches its truest completion when it is fixed to paper, framed, and hung in someone's life. I continue to create with the hope that each piece will become a work of art treasured and displayed for years to come. I hope you find a piece that brings a new perspective to your everyday life. My favorite film is Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire. Saga University of Art — Department of Western Painting, Graduate Saga University of Art — Advanced Course, Painting II, Completed About Giclée Printmaking Giclée originated when Graham Nash, photographer and musician, began using the IRIS printer — developed by IRIS Graphics in the 1980s — to produce fine art prints. Giclée (from the French, meaning "to spray color") is characterized by printing without a plate, unlike lithography or silkscreen printmaking. Today, giclée works have come to be collected and exhibited at major cultural institutions of worldwide renown, including the Louvre and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and their artistic value is increasingly recognized as a global standard. Thank you for visiting my shop. I'm Sunfish_Akira. Based in Kyoto, I create photographic works centered on memory, time, and nostalgia. My roots are in oil and acrylic painting from my years at art college. Today, I work mainly with digital photography, especially with the rough, nostalgic grain of old compact digital cameras from the early 2000s. I'm drawn to the beauty and vividness that remains in the passage of time. After graduation, I have worked as a giclée printing operator, supporting many artists and photographers in bringing their works to print. Having experienced both sides — as a creator and as a printer — is the foundation of my practice. For me, a work is not finished when the shutter clicks. A photograph becomes complete only when it is printed on paper, framed, and lives with someone. I pursue each print for its texture, atmosphere, and longevity, hoping it will be a quiet, lasting presence in your daily life. I hope you find a piece that brings a new perspective to your space.
