[Cafe & Bar Old Compact Camera Series] Work details: Shot on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, with a compact digital camera. Even twenty years after the shutter clicked, the image is as vivid as ever. Due to the low resolution inherent to old compact cameras, prints are available in A5 and A4 sizes only. Only an old compact camera can capture it — that "nostalgia living in coarse grain." Just south of JR Nakano Station, tucked into the chaotic back alleys of Renga-zaka. You descend a steep staircase to the basement level, and suddenly you're in a bar that feels like a Prohibition-era speakeasy. The tiny counter-only space fills up in the blink of an eye — some regulars reportedly just perch on the stairs with a drink in hand. The bourbon selection is a point of pride, ranging from bottles that date back to Prohibition all the way to everyday standards. The HDD where the original image data was stored crashed and the files were lost — but thankfully, they had been uploaded to my Picturetown (now NIKON IMAGE SPACE), so the shot survived.
