"The Silent Treetops" In the place where her memories linger still, she drifts through time, unspoken to. The vanished seasons sleep deep within the chest — what she cannot escape is the name she once loved. Now, if she chose, she could call it once more. She who walked beneath the dappled light stood still again, somewhere between mist and glow, left behind in a place she cannot forget. ◈ Production Notes This piece began with an image: the spirit of a woman, head bowed, standing alone in the forest that surrounds a long-abandoned mansion. The premise is that she died young, but could never bring herself to leave the home and land she had loved so deeply. I chose not to show her face — keeping her as a silhouette so that viewers might layer their own memories onto her form. The impression of quiet nobility in her long dress was something I shaped gradually through the contour that emerges from between the light. The trees behind her are arranged as vertical dark bands, heightening the contrast between the soft, mist-blurred passages and the deeper shadow. The palette is unified in a near-monochrome greyscale, with careful adjustments to preserve an air of the ethereal.
