What I held most dearly in this work was not the boundary between two individuals, but the quiet presence of "resonance" (kyōmei — a felt, almost invisible harmony) flowing in the space between them. By framing the composition at their feet and deliberately excluding their faces and upper bodies, I focused entirely on the overlapping movement of their legs and steps — expressing a harmony of breath that transcends words. Their progress — sensing each other's presence, yielding and moving forward together — speaks not merely to dance as physical action, but to a deep spiritual interconnection rooted in friendship and trust. In the place where their footsteps overlap, I embedded an invisible yet powerful bond, and a pure, willing openness to merging with another. Visually, I leaned into the contrast of monotone while layering in noise and blur to deliberately soften edges. This reflects the way the rhythm the two of them weave together seeps into the surrounding air, blending as smoothly as ink spreading across the surface of water. By refusing sharp outlines, their movement becomes a lingering afterimage — one that dissolves into the memory of the viewer. The steps, marked in flawless rhythm, fill the space as a quiet resonance.
