Please don't forget the warmth of that day when we said "thank you" to each other — enough to make the heart tremble. Your pale shadow dissolves beyond the mist, the last footstep etched only in someone's memory. And yet, because you are still here, a voice of prayer rises — "once more" — carried on the quiet night wind, reaching toward you. If only that warm hand would take mine again, I could start walking once more — beyond the city's edge, toward the light. —— You are still alive in this world. ◈ Artist's Note In the midst of a bustling city's noise, I painted a shadow that should not be there. Standing quietly among the crowd is the spirit of a woman who once lived in this place — still walking, unchanged, between the people who pass her by. What strikes me most is her unconscious gesture. She raises one hand as if pressing a smartphone to her ear — yet she can no longer use any such device. The habit simply never left her; she grows uneasy when her palm is not at her cheek. That desperate, almost tender fixation is what I sought to capture. The colors that dominate the composition reflect the city's dual nature. The red that drifts through the background holds both the warmth of human presence and the quiet danger lurking beneath the urban surface. In contrast, the cool blue shimmer was placed deliberately to suggest the coldness people show one another — the indifference that pervades modern life. Where these colors cross and blur together with noise, the complex undercurrents of contemporary society rise to the surface. The letter-like characters scattered across the cityscape, too, are painted as something beyond mere signage — layered sediment of the fragmentary memories and recollections left behind by everyone who ever passed through. She drifts through that sea of information, smiling quietly, unseen. Through blurred contours and the texture of glitch, I wanted to paint a "threshold" — the place where the living and the dead overlap, where personal memory merges with the city's landscape, where past and present bleed into one.
