"Once Again, To My Beloved" You dance alone inside the fog. Your black dress turns on the wind, and the shadow rising from your feet no longer moves in this world. I borrow your dance to sing out the longing of "once again, to my beloved" through this waltz of souls. Your footsteps are the beating of my heart. Your breath is the last breath still living inside my chest. I dance beside you—— even as your dancing cleaves the border between this world and the next, we go on turning together. Until this shadow enfolds you, until the day you forgive me. Until your dancing finally stills, I will remain at your side, dancing forever. ◈ Artist's Note The place where two people once loved each other has become a ruin where time itself seems to have stopped, ruled now only by silence. Within that space, the spirit of a woman lingers — unable to move on since that day — dancing alone in the depths of the fog. Into that stillness comes a man. He watches her, simply and quietly, as if keeping vigil over her dance. The two were once lovers, and even though their physical lives have been lost, the feelings they carry for each other refuse to leave — they remain here, suspended across time. It was this bittersweet and beautiful scene that I sought to capture in a single frozen moment. The contrast of fog and light that spreads across the entire image is a conscious choice: it blurs the veil between the living world and the world beyond. While the texture and flutter of her black dress are rendered with clarity, the visual noise and soft, indistinct edges surrounding her quietly tell us that she no longer belongs to this world. What I wanted to paint was the weight of feelings that can never reach their destination — the layered longing that drifts in the space between his gaze and her figure. For him, her dance is a heartbeat that stirs distant memory, and at the same time, the last breath remaining within him. Though they cannot touch, their souls resonate through the act of dance itself. With that fervent, almost prayer-like hope of connection in mind, I laid each boundary of light and shadow with care. Until the moment her dancing stops. Until the day he accepts all of this longing within himself. Their time will repeat and overlap forever inside these ruins.
